“Working together to ensure deaf and disabled people are full members of the church”

11th December

You will have likely come across the concept of ‘fiddle toys’/‘fidget toys’ but you may not know why it would be a great idea for your church to have some readily available.

There are many reasons why someone would find a fiddle toy beneficial, but most commonly individuals with ADHD, ASD, anxiety or sensory processing find them particularly helpful.

Having fiddle toys available can help individuals with their emotional regulation, attention span, sensory input, stress and more.

What fiddle toys might you provide in your church fiddle box?

– fidget spinner

– flipping chain fidget

– fidget cube

– poppit

– playdough

– stress ball

– spikey ring

– tangle

You can even purchase ready made ‘starter boxes’ really cheaply from places like The Works. Having fidget toys available is a really easy way to make any of your church services more accessible.
